Alcohol and Atrial Fibrillation in Middle-Aged Women

Happy Holidays! The celebratory season is upon us, filled with social events and pressures that often lead to indulgence in food and drink.

How much is too much? What is a moderate amount of alcohol? The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services defines moderate drinking as no more than one drink a day for women and no more than two drinks a day for men.

This number might seem absurd to many social drinkers, but a recent study found that adding just one more drink a day caused heart problems in some women. CNN's Dr. Gupta explains in this video:
